married!!

Don't let anyone fool you. Marriage isn't easy. The process of becoming "one" has it moments. However, I wouldn't trade it for anything! Below is some history between my now husband and me. I love Jayson so much!

This is me and my Sweetie--

Getting Attack by Bird Seed!!

We were married on August 9, 2008!

On August 9'th, 2008, Jayson Powers and I spiritually became "one flesh". The wedding and reception were beautiful! We thank Jesus with all that we are for uniting us! We thank our friends and family for making our special day even more special!!

How Jay met Jody

Jody and Jay actually met in June of 1996 on the Campus of Ball State University. Jay had been standing on the sidewalk and talking to individuals about Jesus Christ. Jay decided to approach Jody, who was zooming along in her wheelchair. Two amazing things happened that day. First, Jody entered into a new level of relationship with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Secondly, Jody and Jay formed an immediate bond.

It took them many years of friendship, and even three previous attempts of dating, before their eyes were opened to the truth--they were made to be together!

Our Engagement Story

On March 4'th, 2008 around 3p.m., Jayson Powers asked me to married him. And with my whole heart, I accepted!

Okay, the proposal went a little differently than what he had planned. Jayson wanted to make a big fuss over it and ask me in front of my church family (at Agape), However, what really happened was even better!

Jayson got my ring Tuesday night, but he couldn't wait until Sunday to ask! So, he braved the sleet and ice this Wednesday afternoon to get to me! (Mind you, many things were cancelled because of this weather.) I felt like such a princeness, whose knight was determined to get to her! (I believed God planned this scenerio becaused of how special it made me feel.)

We went for a late lunch at Olive Garden. Because of the weather, we were almost the only people there! And on bended knee Jayson told me he loved me more than any other woman in the world. He said he loved my beauty, smile, intelligence, and other stuff. Then he asked me to marry him! With tears in my eyes, I said yes. I told him I loved him. We hugged, kissed, and kissed some more. The waiters then sang to us. It was just so sweet.

Afterwards Jayson, who is just as goofy as me, told me he asked seven women to married him today-just so he could tease me that I was his last choice. I laughed because the fact he did something so goofy showed me we were meant to be together!

I love my engagement ring! It was Jayson's great-grandmother's diamond!

We have been dating for just five months. However, believe me, Jesus has led us to this point. After twelve years of friendship and a few attempts of something more, God has conifirmed that joiniing together as husband and wife is the right thing.

We are very much in love, and we are very excited about our future!
